Cantares Latin Choir (formerly Cantares Venezuelan Choir)
The Choir was established in June 2010, building on the-long term choral experience of its founders (left).
In July 2010, Mr. Juan Sosa, born in Tinaco-Venezuela and founder of the Columba Mendez choir in the 1980's, joined this initiative as the choir Conductor.
Cantares Choir's main repertoire consists of Latin American music with rhythms from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
5th Anniversary
In July 2015, Cantares celebrated its 5th Anniversary. For this ocassion, the Foundation prepared a special edition of the traditional Let's Sing Together with renowned invitees: Raul Delgado Estevez (Venezuela), Timothy Shantz (Canada) and Shana Yang (Canada).

X Anniversary
2010 - 2020
Cantares Latin Choir will celebrate its X Anniversary in year 2020. The Foundation is already planning a very special event for this important milestone.

Choir members 2019-2020
Juan Sosa, born in Tinaco (Venezuelan prairies), is the Conductor of Cantares Latin Choir. Juan, a mechanical engineer from University of Carabobo, has been always very passionate about choral music, to which he has devoted significant attention. Currently, he resides in Calgary with his wife, Cepha, and daugthers Maria and Laura.
Steven Morton, from Calgary, is Cantares Latin Choir's vocal coach since 2018. Steven is an independant artist, designer and instructor who is passionate for performing and creating. He is a Choral Instructor and Music Specialist for the Calgary Arts Academy. The choir benefits from Steven's expertise to excel in choral performance.
Rehearsals are Mondays 6:30PM - 9:00PM
