Cantares Venezuelan Cultural Foundation
Who We Are
The Foundation is committed to contribute to the City's cultural diversity, while fostering the involvement in performing arts by individuals and community groups. To this end, the foundation supports the endeavours of two musical ensembles:
- Cantares Latin Choir
- La Parranda

Carmen Galarraga
President
Carmen, a passionate about Venezuelan culture and traditions, holds a Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering. She likes organizing and planning and has been on the CVCF board since its creation.
Amanda Hernandez
Treasurer
Amanda has a very busy schedule being a mother of two boys and working as an accountant but still she has time not only to beautifully sing in the choir but also to volunteer as the Foundation treasurer.
Laura Sosa
Secretary
Laura, a young and dinamyc Ph. D. student, has been with Cantares Latin Choir since she was a teenager . She is very disciplined and a great asset in the soprano section.

Norka Marcano
Chair
Norka, a Ph. D. in Geochemistry, has been one of the pillars for CVCF. She was assistant conductor for Cantares Latin Choir. Even though she is currently overseas on a work assignment, Norka keeps contributing to Cantares goals and mission.

Why Us?
Our goal is to be a reference point for those interested on approaching to Latin American artistic and cultural expressions in the City of Calgary and the Province of Alberta.
